Why Host with us?
We selected the leader in advanced cloud hosting, Rackspace, to provide the infrastructure to host your site. We purchase larger quantities of cloud resources and sell them in smaller blocks so you gain all the infrastructure benefits large corporations have at a price that is competitive with Shared Hosting Providers.
What's the difference between Shared Hosting with other companies and sharing the Cloud with Avid Integration Technologies?
Simple, in Shared Hosting your site is on a single server with as many sites from other clients as possible. This is why the other providers can sell hosting at a low cost, you share the cost of the server your site is on with many other clients.
Shared Hosting increases your risk of the site being unavailable since a hardware failure will affect all sites on that single server.
Another risk is a site on the shared server may start consuming more than it's fair share of server resources thereby slowing down all the other sites on that server. When the clients start calling in about poor site performance the Shared Hosting provider usually shuts down the offending site until they can move it to a server with fewer clients on it. Not a good situation for anyone hosting on that server and especially not good for you if it happens to be your site - your site becomes inaccessible just when it becomes most popular!
By hosting on a cloud with us, you share many servers that act as a single server - there is no single point of failure in the cloud. If one server has a hardware failure your site still stays online because another server instantly takes over. If you have have an incredibly successful web site (and we hope you do) the cloud simply adds more servers handling the requests for your web site, if the demand drops off the cloud simply allocates less servers - all automatically.
When you host with us:
- Your site will not go down un-expectedly due to hardware failures - your site is on a fully redundant cloud infrastructure!
- You will never be taken off line for exceeding bandwidth, disk space or compute cycles in your hosting plan and you will not be 'bumped' up to a more expensive plan - you simply pay for what you use beyond your hosting plan and nothing more.
- You will not get the run around when it comes to billing - We're not perfect so if we make a mistake, we fix it. It's that simple.
Don't let this happen to you!
We've had our own bad experience hosting with a low cost provider including servers being down and billing issues. That's what got us into this business in the first place, we know we can do better!
Before deciding to go into the hosting business we searched the web looking for a new hosting provider and managed to find plenty of comments like these:
"Last month my website suddenly vanished so I contacted the provider by phone. I was assured there was nothing to worry about; lightening had hit the providers building and a power serge had burnt out the hard disk on the server. Nothing to worry about... And so I went to bed reasonably assured the site would be there in the morning.
...
It took weeks to get the back together again.Basically starting from scratch. Years of databases, specially designed interfaces, the works - all gone. Fortunately the host saw fit to pocket all the expenses and set up the site again, but that only really balanced out the lost revenue."

"If your site goes over a daily limit of a couple of GBs, it gets shut down."

"On one account that I moved, I was billed for another year of service despite the fact it had been moved a month before the contract expired. I requested a total refund and got a partial credit after several messages and weeks - they only respond to billing inquiries on Mondays. I continued to request a credit for the balance still charged. After many more weeks, I disputed the charge with my credit card company. They initially upheld the charge, but reversed their decision and decided in my favor upon further investigation."

"we have had nothing but problems with the server being down and our emails not working properly. When you try to get an answer, they send you in circles. Live chat says submit a ticket, when you submit a ticket they tell you to use Live Chat. We are in the process of looking for a new hosting company"

"Then out of the blue all my sites went down, my revenue took a big hit, and I couldn't even access my files. I made multiple calls to support and got BS responses like "we're working on it" with no real explanation. I requested my files be temporarily moved to a different server so my sites would at least be live. They declined. Never got an explanation or even acknowledgement that something had happened. All said and done my sites were down about a week and their customer support was abysmal."
